Luxuriously large and comfortable, by day the Westbury on Kilburn High Road is a comfy place to go hang out, by night it’s all about hip hop and electro club DJs

The latest offering from Steve Blonde’s Columbo Entertainment team, who brought us Fabric and the Old Queen’s Head, rhe Westbury is a pub-come-bar and pool lounge offering up first class DJs. Kilburn has never seen anything like it! Call it trampy chic with its glistening chandeliers against intricate black and white vintage wallpaper, comfy leather seats and sizable pool tables.

Basically, the ethos is the same as the Old Queen’s Head. “It’s a pub where you can go and see top drawer DJs. It’s only £3 to see a DJ you’d normally associate with a club that you’d pay £10 to get in to,” says Joe Chalmers, head of the promotions team. “We’ve got various high-quality DJs coming up, such as Black Rabbit (Justin Robertson) doing Bank Holiday Sunday, Bugz in the Attic. The DJs like it because the night finishes at 2am and they can go on to other gigs.”

Recently opened, the aim is to take a bit of east and north London over to Kilburn. “We’re trying to offer something that they haven’t got at the moment,” says Joe. “It’s a pre-club crowd we’re catering to and also somewhere for local residents to come and have a drink. Also there’s lots of media types and record labels in and around Maida Vale and they haven’t really got anywhere to go and have a drink after work.”

Like the Old Queen’s Head, The Westbury also has free WiFi which is always a plus point, so you can catch up with a bit of work or emails on a Saturday afternoon over a pint and the papers. If you’re in the area go check it out!
