Aries
21 March - 21 April
Cardinal Fire Sign
Imagine that you are an Aries. You need to begin to think and feel like a child again. This is necessary if you are to begin to understand the enthusiasm and energy of the first sign of the Zodiac. This sign is born in spring around festivals like Easter. From the emerging plants to little ducklings, everything at this time of year is about new life.
Picture then, lambs gamboling through the countryside; bursting with all the excitement and energy that new life feels. This is the energy of Aries: restless, full of excitement and enthusiasm. This also means that they can be impatient; they cannot wait to do what they want, or go on to the next adventure. Next time an Aries appears to demand rather than ask; consider that they might not mean to be bossy, but that they can’t wait long enough to sugar coat their demand. They know what they want and they want it now. You may decide to give in for fear of a row, but if you give in too easily, will they sense weakness? Aries respects strength and they equate this with courage.
Aries has a reputation for being assertive, bold and courageous. In part at least, this may be because they are so impulsive that they rush ahead, asking questions later. They may not think every minutiae or detail of a plan through. Life is too short and detailed plans only delay action; and this is a sign about action.
Being a cardinal sign means taking the initiative and Aries are certainly able to do that. They have plenty of ideas and forge ahead although they may not finish them. In fact they are good leaders because they are good at starting projects and then delegating their completion to others. This leaves them free to start the next project that they are now passionate about.
Aries is also a sign of leadership because they always want to be in charge. They are very competitive and losing is not an option. They want to win and be first at all times. This is very useful in the arenas of business and sports. Business entrepreneurs often have strong Aries in their charts as do athletes. Indeed, even if they don’t choose a career in sports, most Aries love either watching sports on TV or taking part. They need to do something physical to burn off all their excess energy. I often recommend to my Aries clients that they jog or do something physical when they are feeling either stressed or angry as this can help avert emotional explosions. Aries is famous for these and if you anger one, take cover. The nice thing though, is that just like a good thunderstorm, once the explosion has occurred an Aries will forget all about what made them angry. This sign doesn’t hold grudges.
We can learn a lot from Aries. This straightforward and assertive sign can remind us that life is for living. For those of us who are more cautious, Aries optimism can feel like warm spring sunshine. So if you’re feeling low, and you can’t turn to an Aries to provide you with some fun, take a leaf out of their book. Remember that tomorrow will look after itself and make time to play. This way we can all make the best of the spring sunshine and make the world a more cheerful place. Have fun!
